LEXINGTON, Ky. - Senior Faye Barhorst earned AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors for the third consecutive year in a release of the teams by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Wednesday.

Barhorst was also named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American each of the last two seasons while earning AVCA Regional Freshman of the Year honors in 2003. A two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, Barhorst is UD's all-time leader in hitting percentage (.384), kills (1,796) and blocks (668). She ranked fourth nationally in hitting percentage this season at .431. Barhorst was also named to the A-10 All-Championship Team in each of the last three seasons.

The Fort Loramie, Ohio native was part of a Flyer offense that broke the school record in hitting percentage (.255) while also ranking in the Top 10 for Flyer single-season history in kills (1,877) and blocks (317.0). Barhorst broke the UD single-season record for hitting percentage while also recording the eighth most kills (456), seventh most block assists (116) and seventh most solo blocks (39) in a single season.

Dayton has won three straight Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championships and has advanced to the A-10 Finals each of the past four years. The 2003, 2004 & 2005 Atlantic 10 Champions hold the highest winning percentage of any active A-10 team in conference play (149-49, .753). UD has been home to four Atlantic 10 Players of the Year and two A-10 Setters of the Year under the direction of fourth-year head coach Tim Horsmon, who was named the 2005 A-10 Coach of the Year. The Flyers have recorded 12 consecutive winning seasons and six straight 20-win campaigns. Dayton was 22-11 in 2006 including a victory over #18 Arizona - the highest ranked opponent ever defeated by the Flyers.
