A-10 VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT TO BE LIVE VIDEO STREAMED
Nov. 13, 2006 DAYTON, Ohio - The Atlantic 10 conference and CSTV (College Sports Television) have teamed up to provide the exclusive live video streaming rights for the 2006 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship from November 17-19. All five matches will be live video streamed for free from the Atlantic 10's official website at www.atlantic10.org. Fans can access the live video broadcast via Windows Media Player. Tickets to the tournament will be available at the Frericks Center ticket office the day of the matches. A single day ticket may be purchased for $5 for adults or $3 for A-10 students, children 18 and under, and senior citizens. A three-day pass is available for $10 for adults and $5 for A-10 students, children 18 and under, and seniors. The Atlantic 10 champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament which begins Dec. 1 and end with the championship on Dec. 16. The three-time defending Atlantic 10 champion Flyers showcase an 11-2 record in conference play and are 21-8 overall. The Temple Owls, Saint Louis Billikens, Xavier Musketeers, Charlotte 49ers and Fordham Rams also advanced to the A-10 Tournament. The Flyers captured a share of the A-10 West Division title and earned the top-seed in the Championship due to a head-to-head tie-breaker with Saint Louis (19-8/11-2), which also earned a share of the West Division title. Temple (16-13/8-5) garners the Championship's second seed as a result of winning the East Division. Both Dayton and Temple earned a first-round bye in the Championship. Saint Louis earned the third-seed due to Conference winning percentage and will face the sixth-seeded Rams on Friday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. ET. Xavier (17-11/10-3) and Charlotte (19-11/7-6) will square off as the fourth and fifth seeds, respectively, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The first round winners will meet the top seeds, Dayton and Temple, in the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 18. Temple will play its first match Saturday at 5 p.m. ET, while Dayton follows with its first match at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Championship match will be played on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. ET. |
