DAYTON 3, LIPSCOMB 0

Nov. 30, 2007

Recap |  Box Score |  Photo Gallery

Lipscomb Head Coach Brandon Rosenthal
"I think obviously the experience of our first NCAA tournament was fantastic. We came out in game one with some jitters. I'm proud of how we settled down halfway through game one and then in game two and game three. I can't say enough about the players and what we've done. Five years ago we started this program and here we are competing with one of the top teams in the country. Dayton volleyball is a very strong program. We've played programs over the last five years from Texas to Pepperdine and Dayton has a very good thing going on here. They are a very strong program."

"This year the highest caliber teams we played were Pepperdine and Arizona. I think Dayton was the best though. They have a real balanced attack, some strong hitters, they just mix it up. A lot of powerful teams don't do that a lot. I'm really impressed with that. Lindsay Fletemier is an impressive player to be doing what she is doing as a redshirt freshman."

Dayton Head Coach Tim Horsmon
"It wasn't our best effort tonight, but we're playing another day so we will have a good night and get ready to play a really good Michigan State team tomorrow.

"Our energy wasn't good and we didn't execute well. We worked very hard this season to build a certain identity and I don't think we played to that."

"We didn't know who was going to come out of that Kentucky versus Michigan State game. So we prepared ourselves as if we'd play both, but we need to put the finishing touches on preparing to play Michigan State tomorrow."

Adrienne Green
"It was definitely a great atmosphere to play in. It's something we always wanted to do (hosting). The fans were fantastic."

"Tomorrow is a new day no matter how we did tonight. Tomorrow is going to be a tough game versus Michigan State. Everyone needs to be ready to play, not just one or two people."

Yvonne Marten
"It was lot of fun (to play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament) and nice that is was at Frericks. The fan support was great knowing they were for us instead of against us was amazing."

Lindsay Fletemier
"We all we didn't play very well tonight, me included. There are a lot of things we need to work on tomorrow to get it done. It needs to be a bigger team effort."

"Not many freshmen get to play in an NCAA tournament let alone have their school host it. So it's really sweet that it's happening."
