KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The University of Dayton Flyers extended their winning streak to three with a 4-3 extra innings win over the Columbia Lions at the Rebel Games on Tuesday.

Blair Crabtree led the Flyers with two runs in four at-bats followed by Megan Lee who was 1-for-3 and had two RBI's.

Eva Rappe picked up her third win this season in 1.1 innings pitched, striking out one batter.

"Having Eva come in and finish off the game was huge for us," Clark said. "Erin [Lafayette] pitched great for us throughout the game."

With the win the Flyers move to .500 on the season with eight wins and eight losses. While Eva Rappe collects her fifth collegiate win as a Flyer.

The Flyers got off to an early start at the hands of an Anne Maci double that brought Mollie Schrank home for the first tally.

The Lions roared back with a run of their own in the third inning but the Flyer offense kicked into high gear notching a pair of runs on Megan Lee's double to right center field.

"Megan's solid hitting was important in our win today," Clark said.

Columbia knotted it up in the top of the seventh with a single to left field that drove in two runners forcing the game into extra innings.

Blair Crabtree crossed the plate for the winning run scoring on a wild pitch by the Lions.

In the second game, Dayton knocked off Manhattan in a matinee 2-1 thriller. Eva Rappe picked up her fourth win of the season in the contest allowing only four hits.

"Eva giving up four hits is one of the best performances she has had all year," said coach Cara Clark. "She was in control of the game from start to finish."

The Flyers move above .500 with the win, giving them a 9-8 record this season. Dayton has also taken wins in eight of the last nine contests they have played in.

Allie Falk was 1-2 on the day driving in the game-winning run on a double. Mollie Schrank also posted a 3-for-4 outing against the Jaspers.

"Allie's double to bring home Emily [Stegeman] was huge," Clark said.

The Flyers round out the Rebel Games in twin ball tomorrow morning at the Osceola Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida, before traveling to take on conference foe Charlotte on Saturday. For the latest buzz on Flyer athletics visit the home of the Flyers at www.DaytonFlyers.com.
