FLYERS FINISH ROUND ONE IN FOURTH AT THE RACER CLASSIC



Sophomore Katie Dempsey finished round one in a tie for 13th

  • First Round Results

    MURRAY, Ky. - Sophomore Katie Dempsey shot an 84 after the first round of the New Wave Communications Racer Classic to help the Dayton Flyers into fourth place.

    UD shot a 352 as a team. Dempsey carded a 41 on the front nine and a 43 on the back to finish in a tie for 13th.

    Right behind was sophomore Katie Gallagher who netted back-to-back 44's to finish with an 88.

    Senior Mary Kane and sophomore Casey Peterson each tallied a 90. Kane rebounded to shoot a 43 on the back, while Peterson was the exact opposite scoring a 41 on the first nine holes.

    Freshman Julie Pouliquen carded a 94 after shooting scores of 47 on the front and back nine.

    Among the individuals sophomore Paige Smith added a 90, while freshman Heather Grant totaled a 94.

    Dayton completes the Racer Classic on Tuesday, March 4 from the Miller Memorial Golf Course.
