Kyle Rechlicz

Player Profile

Position:
Assistant Coach

Alma Mater:
Wisconsin (2003)

The University of Dayton welcomed Kyle Rechlicz as an assistant women's basketball coach on July 7, 2007. Rechlicz joined the Flyer family after spending the previous four seasons as the recruiting coordinator at Cleveland State.

"I am pleased to have her join our program because of her passion for the game and will to succeed," UD Head Coach Jim Jabir said. "She is a hard worker who is knowledgeable about basketball and a student of the game. We have continued to improve our program by hiring Kyle."

While working alongside her former collegiate coach from her days at Wisconsin, Kate Peterson, Rechlicz helped the Vikings to attract talented players to Cleveland State. CSU signed a Horizon League All-Newcomer Team pick in 2003 and had another addition that was ranked as the 20th-best shooting guard in the nation and went on to earn All-Newcomer and All-Defensive Team honors from the Horizon League in 2006.

Rechlicz used her experience as a guard at Wisconsin to help develop the Cleveland State backcourt. She coached the 2006-2007 Horizon League Newcomer of the Year as well as two other guards that earned Horizon League All-Newcomer Team honors. Rechlicz also mentored a First Team All-Horizon League pick during her time at CSU.

Although much of her time at Cleveland State was spent helping out on the hardwood, Rechlicz also assisted in the development of a proposal to the NCAA Choices Grant Committee to implement an effective alcohol education and prevention program for CSU.

After finishing her playing career for Wisconsin in 2002, Rechlicz served in 2002-03 as a student assistant coach for the Badgers. Among her duties were to assist Peterson in her recruiting efforts, help in the preparation of scouting reports, organize and manage the Jane's Gem Kids Club and recruit and coach the male practice squad.

The former Kyle Black during her playing days, she was Wisconsin's premier three-point shooter. She made a triple in all but one game as a senior and set a school record with seven (of 11) three-pointers in collecting a career-high 26 points versus Holy Cross. The Indianapolis native led the Big Ten Conference as a junior, hitting .406 percent from beyond the arc. As a senior, Rechlicz earned her second Academic All-Big Ten honor while averaging a career-best 12.1 points per game.

Rechlicz and her husband, David, welcomed their daughter, Payton Anne, to the world on March 25, 2005.
