2007-08: Scored two points and hauled in career high five rebounds in just eight minutes of action against SMU. Played 11 minutes off the bench and scored a career high six points over High Point. Played in 25 games during his freshman season and averaged 1.0 points and 1.2 rebounds. Devin Darel Searcy is another Flyer who will put the "Fly" in "Flyers." Not only is he an athletic 6-9, he has a 37 inch vertical leap and a seven-foot fingertip-to-fingertip reach. He is the fifth Romulus High School player in the last four years to earn a Division I scholarship. High School:A three-year starter, Searcy was a sophomore starter for 2005 Michigan Class A runners-up, and averaged 8.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots. As a junior, as the only returning starter for Romulus, he averaged 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.7 blocked shots and was named honorable mention all-state. As a senior, he was named to the All-Down River Team after averaging 12.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.7 blocked shots and 1.5 assists a game. Romulus finished 15-9. He was ranked #8 overall in Michigan's 2007 class by Rivals.com, and the #3-rated power forward in Michigan. As a senior, he was also selected as one of the Top 50 players at the Nike All-American Camp. He blocked 11 shots in a game against Ypsilanti (including six in the fourth quarter) midway through the 2006-07 season. Searcy hopes to go into sports broadcasting.
