Matt Farrell was a Graduate Assistant with the Dayton men's basketball program during the 2006-07 season before being promoted to Director of Basketball Operations in August, 2007.

Farrell holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton (Finance and Economics) and is currently pursuing his MBA at the University.

While earning his degree at the undergraduate level and maintaining his status in the University of Dayton Scholar Program, he served as an assistant basketball coach at a local area high school and coached AAU basketball for the Indiana Elite program. He has actively served in various capacities with area basketball teams.

"I like the fact that Matt has dedicated himself to working through the ranks to advance in this profession," head coach Brian Gregory stated. "I believe he is an excellent up and coming young coach who will do a tremendous job for us in the operations position."
