Directions to Time Warner Cable Stadium | Vistor's Guide | Dayton Weather
Dayton will take part in its final non-conference game of the 2008 regular season on Tuesday when the Flyers play host to Eastern Kentucky at Time Warner Cable Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET and fans can follow the action live with Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com. UD enters just one win shy of the fifth 30-win season in program history, which have all come since 2001 under the direction of head coach Tony Vittorio. Senior Kevin Miller has been key to Dayton's run towards 30 victories this season and would be the only player in school history to play on three different 30-win clubs should UD earn one victory in its final four games. Miller, who was recently an ESPN The Magazine Second Team Academic All-District selection, started the season with a .207 career average but has blossomed into the Flyers' most dependable hitter this season. He leads UD by hitting at a .353 clip this season to go along with a .445 on base percentage and three outfield assists. Miller has posted a nine-game hitting streak at one point this season while putting up 19 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI performances. Scott Dunwoody was also recently honored for his academic achievements as an ESPN The Magazine First Team Academic All-District selection at catcher. He has thrown out 20 of 66 would be base stealers this season while recording the fourth best batting average on the team at .291. Dunwoody has hit right behind Miller at the second spot in the order for most of the season and laid down a team-best 10 sacrifice bunts while posting a .341 on base percentage. UD will close out the regular season with one final Atlantic 10 Conference series this weekend at home against Duquesne. The Flyers and Dukes will square off on Thursday (3 p.m. ET), Friday (3 p.m. ET) and Saturday (Noon ET) in a series that will feature Gametracker of all three contests at www.DaytonFlyers.com. In addition, the six members of the Flyer senior class will be honored prior to the start of Saturday's season finale. |
