Scanlon serves as the academic coordinator for the University of Dayton in women 's rowing, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross-country and men's and women's golf. At UD, Scanlon oversees the student-athlete study hall program. During her time at Dayton, the Flyers have more than 130 student-athletes with a 3.5 grade point average or higher. She also works with the CHAMPS/Lifeskills program to coordinate programming related to such topics as alcohol awareness, career development, Internet safety, financial planning, and much more. Within this role Scanlon serves as the advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, working with student-athletes to develop leadership skills off the field through social activities and community service events. She graduated from Canisius College in May 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and a minor in Business with a concentration in sport management. At Canisius, Scanlon was a four-year letter winner in synchronized swimming. She is a four-time ECAC championship team member and participated in the 2005 U.S. Senior National Championships and 2006 Senior National Team Trials. She served as the Canisius team captain her junior year and was a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee member since her sophomore season. Scanlon will pursue her Master's degree at the University of Dayton beginning this summer. |
